Port Royal Plantation
PORT ROYAL PLANTATION - located at the north end of the island, this community boasts one of the most private beaches, Accessible only to the homeowners, the Port Royal Beach Club has sweeping views over Port Royal Sound, the sea islands over towards Beaufort, as well as the Atlantic Ocean. With ample beach walks allowing for easy access, and wide packed sand for fun bike rides, Port Royal Plantation enjoys a premier reputation. Since there are no short term (90 days or less) rentals or commercial properties within the community, even in the height of summer, the beach is not crowded.

For history buffs, Port Royal Plantation was the landing site for Captain William Hilton. The ruins of the encampment may be seen at the end of Fort Walker Drive. There are descriptive plaques throughout the community with other notable historic significance.
